Now, who heard of Myanmar before. Myanmar, one of the ruthless country in south east asia where it was used to be govern by the military until
Aung San Suu Kyi comes in the picture.
Capital of Myanmar, Yangon (once called Rangoon) is now open for public for travel. Don't be surprised if the locals keep staring at you when you travel there. The locals can be too new to the outside world. Ever wonder what's going on inside this country? Here's what I found. I spent 3 days in Myanmar without sleeping in the hotel and managed to travel to 2 different town within 3 days, namely, Yangon and Bagan.
Took a SQ flight in the early morning 730 am from Singapore to Yangon. It took around 3 hours and a half to reach Yangon. I was surprised that the police officer in the airport are wearing sarung lol.
By the way, after immigration check-out, took a taxi for 8000 Kyat from Airport to Chinatown. Well, eventually, me and my girlfriend, we booked a dorm just for us to leave our bag and head for a walk around downtown Yangon.
Headed to Shwedagon Pagoda, what an amazing pagoda. Shwedagon is the largest pagoda in south-east asia, for real?
By the way, for your info, you have to take off your footwear whenever you step in any pagoda around Myanmar, no matter how big or small it is.
I am kinda lazy to type so probably just look over the picture yeah?
Do you know there's how many thousands carat of diamonds at the top of this pagoda? Up till now, no one dares to comes in to rob the diamond.
People praying on the shrine
first night at Yangon, we left to Bagan. The traffic in Yangon is very bad. it took us 1.5 hr from the main city to the Aung Mingalar Bus Station. Off we go to Bagan.
We took JJ Bus from Aung Mingalar Bus Station.
Arrived Bagan as early as 5 am. Rent a bike at 6 am and we drove the temples. First stop to one of the highest temple, IDK whats the name to see the sunrise.
Had a quick breakie at New Bagan Town.
The best e-bike i ever drove.
Took our night bus again back to yangon after our 1 day trip in Bagan.
Met my old colleague in Singapore.
and we left for Singapore that afternoon.
